Today, we celebrate a trailblazer, a leader, and a dedicated public servant whose career has been defined by service, advocacy, and a steadfast commitment to justice.
After graduating from York University in Toronto, Canada, Solicitor-General Bristol earned her law degree from Georgia State University College of Law in 2009. She began her legal career as a public defender, handling cases from the State Court to the Court of Appeals while tirelessly advocating for her clients.
In 2014, she transitioned into prosecution, joining the DeKalb Solicitor-General’s Office Special Victims Unit, where she prosecuted cases involving domestic violence, crimes against vulnerable victims, elder abuse, stalking, and animal cruelty.
Her commitment to justice continued in 2018 when she joined the Gwinnett County District Attorney’s Office as a Senior District Attorney prosecuting felony offenses. In 2021, she returned to DeKalb County as a Senior Assistant District Attorney in the Crime Strategies and Community Partnerships Unit, expanding her community engagement while continuing her prosecution work.
During her tenure, she expanded her commitment to community advocacy by founding the Dash for Domestic Violence 5K, which has raised more than $29,630 over the past three years to support organizations serving victims of domestic violence and strengthen awareness and resources within the community.
A champion for elder justice, Solicitor-General Bristol trains professionals nationwide on best practices for prosecuting elder abuse cases. She also serves as an Adjunct Professor at her alma mater, Georgia State University, helping shape the next generation of legal professionals.
A recipient of the Top 40 Under 40 alumni honor from Georgia State University and the Moxie Influence Award from the Gwinnett Chamber, Solicitor-General Bristol remains deeply committed to the community she serves. Alongside her husband, she is raising three children here in Gwinnett County.
