“This week we’re highlighting Gwinnett County Solicitor-General, Lisamarie N. Bristol – the first Black woman to hold her position.
The Solicitor-General’s Office is tasked with prosecuting all State misdemeanor crimes in the State Court of Gwinnett and ordinance violations and traffic citations in Recorder’s Court.
Bristol’s start in law began in 2009 after becoming a member of the Georgia Bar. Once a public defender, the two-year Solicitor handled hundreds of cases in Traffic, State, Superior and Court of Appeals. Bristol transitioned to prosecution and successfully prosecuted cases in the Gwinnett District Attorney’s Office, Dekalb County District Attorney’s Office and Dekalb County Solicitor-General’s Office.
Stay tuned to discover what pearls of wisdom she would share with her younger self, and how that advice resonates profoundly in today’s ever-evolving landscape.”
