The Gwinnett County Solicitor General’s Office held a check presentation on December 12 at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center (GJAC). Solicitor General Lisamarie Bristol was pleased to announce the success of the second annual Dash 4 Domestic Violence Awareness 5-K. “Our second annual 5-K event was even more successful than the first. We hope that the annual event will continue to grow each year and help support victims and services for victims of domestic violence.” The event raised over ten thousand dollars in its second year.
Solicitor General Bristol presented checks to three service providers in the community: Mosaic Georgia, Ahimsa House and Partnership Against Domestic Violence (PADV). Mosaic Georgia offers free services to survivors of sexual abuse. Ahimsa House provides a safe space for pets of domestic violence survivors as they work to stabilize their lives. PADV provides temporary housing and resources for survivors of domestic violence.
“It takes a community to stand against domestic violence,” said Gwinnett Solicitor General Lisamarie Bristol. “The annual 5K event is our way of saying to survivors, ‘You are not alone, and there is a support system willing and ready to help.’”
In addition to supporting these key organizations, the event raised awareness in the community for nonprofits that address behavioral health, substance use disorders, and healthy lifestyle behaviors. These organizations are crucial in promoting mental and physical well-being and offer education and support to individuals affected by crime.
The third annual Dash 4 Domestic Violence Awareness 5-K will be held at Alexander Park in Lawrenceville on Saturday, October 4, 2025. Watch for upcoming announcements for how you can participate or sponsor.
