June is Elder Abuse Awareness Month, and Gwinnett County Solicitor General Lisamarie Bristol is committed to protecting and empowering our senior community.
On June 23, 2025, Solicitor General Bristol and members of her team visited the Lawrenceville Senior Center for a special afternoon of engagement and education. The visit began with a fun and lively game of bingo, where everyone shared laughs and good company.
Following the game, Solicitor General Bristol led an important conversation about elder abuse discussing the signs and dangers of financial exploitation, physical abuse, emotional and psychological harm, sexual assault, and neglect. Participants learned how to recognize red flags and she encouraged them to speak up and know where to turn for help if they or someone they know is at risk.
Her team also handed out helpful resource materials with information on local support services, reporting options, and ways to stay safe. After the discussion, Solicitor General Bristol and her staff remained on-site to answer questions and provide one-on-one support to anyone in need.
Every senior deserves to live with dignity, safety, and respect. Let’s continue to raise awareness and stand together against elder abuse.
