National Crime victims’ Rights Week
National Crime victims’ Rights Week 2026

National Crime victims’ Rights Week (NCVRW) is observed annually in April to honor survivors, recognize those who serve, and to promote victims’ rights.

This week focuses on validating survivor experiences, providing trauma-informed services for victims, removing barriers to justice, advocating for victim rights, and supporting survivors of crime.

The theme for NCVRW 2026 is Listen, Act, Advocate. Protect victims, serve communities.

The significance of this week is to highlight the need for continued support for victims and to bring awareness to the programs and laws that exist to help crime victims rebuild their lives.

This week, the Victim Witness Unit of the Gwinnett County Solicitor General’s Office honored survivors with an event at the Gwinnett Justice Administration Center.

Members of the community were provided with vital information on crime prevention awareness, legal and community resources for crime victims, and their very own copy of the Crime Victim Bill of Rights.

Additionally, The Victim Witness Unit created a ‘Wall of Support’ for community members to write positive affirmations in support of all victims of crime.
