Strengthening Our Response to Mental Health Crises

Staff members of the Gwinnett County Solicitor General’s Office participated in a training today presented by the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office Mental Health Task Force.

The Mental Health Force works to assist individuals of all ages and their families who are experiencing a mental health crisis by connecting them with appropriate resources, treatment options, and community-based services. The team responds to individuals in crisis, assists with mental health evaluations and emergency treatment when appropriate, coordinates follow-up and resources, and works closely with community partners throughout Gwinnett County.

A special thank you to Major Maldonado, Dr. Tatum, and MDS R. Wheeler of the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office for the important work they do in our mental health community and for sharing their knowledge and experience with our staff.

We look forward to continuing to build a strong partnership with the Mental Health Task Force and connecting members of our Gwinnett County community with meaningful resources, treatment options, and support.
